I can see printed materials, such as flyers or programmes, becoming redundant in the near future.
Following the event we asked our team what technological changes they believed would be occur in the events industry over the next 10 years. Here are some of their thoughts;
Charlotte (Head of Venue & Sales):
“The move to digital is going to be a huge trend in the next decade. I can see printed materials, such as flyers or programmes, becoming redundant in the near future. More and more information is being sent and displayed through electronic devices, which have much more functionality, can sync information simultaneously and are resuable. Soon it’s going to be normal for everyone attending conferences to have tablets.”
“Virtual Conferences using Oculus Rift style Virtual Reality devices are going to become more prominent, as they allow for really emotional, engaging and immersive experiences. Having presentations streamed live or attending conferences via computer will also save delegates time and money.”
“Organising events is already helped massively thanks to software like Cvent. I think we’re going to see an even greater variety of apps and online management programmes to help in the run up to events. Likewise, I also think more advanced software and more integration of technology will help to provide more accurate and useful feedback after events.”
“There might be a backlash against technology in some ways! Emails are so overused now, we could see more posting of invitations to make it more special for the invitee.”
